Alejandro Estevez

Alejandro Estevez is a 4th-year architecture student at the Bernard and Anne Spitzer School of Architecture. He is deeply passionate about working with diverse site conditions, clients, building types, and scales. Alejandro’s enthusiasm for design and aesthetics is driven by his commitment to using architecture to benefit and represent underserved communities. Growing up as a native New Yorker, Alejandro observed significant disparities in urban design during his daily commute from the Bronx to Manhattan, sparking his awareness of the stark differences in architectural quality between Manhattan and the outer boroughs. This early observation led him to question why some areas are graced with high-quality structures while others face the reality of deteriorating buildings. Alejandro acknowledges that addressing these urban challenges involves tackling complex systemic issues that go beyond mere design. His education at City College has nurtured this vision of justice through architecture, reinforcing his commitment to confronting architectural inequalities in New York City’s urban landscape.
