Glenn Bell, M.Arch 2018
Meet Glenn Bell, a talented project designer at TONAB Architecture, whose passion for architecture is rooted in his experience growing up in Brooklyn. Born and raised in Coney Island, Glenn has seen firsthand the effects of public school closings, displacement, and neighborhood decay. As an aspiring creator, he felt helpless to the changes around him until his education at CCNY opened his eyes to the power of architecture.
Glenn's entire education has come from NYC public schools, and he is a proud alum. He received his Master of Architecture degree from CCNY in 2018 and has been using his skills to create and change his built environment ever since. His career path aims to reclaim his past experiences and reimagine a future for those less afforded.
At TONAB, Glenn works on a variety of projects, from supportive and affordable housing to educational and cultural institutions to large-scale commercial projects. The firm is modeled on the principle that architecture can and should have a positive impact on the lives of people, a principle that resonates deeply with Glenn's personal values.
Throughout his career, Glenn has been committed to equality and forging access, from his thesis on modernizing NYCHA houses to adapting public schools for accessibility. He is proud of his project choices and professional experiences so far and remains as passionate about architecture and the built environment as he was when he first arrived at CCNY.
